आज एरोस्मिथच्या आणखी एका मस्त गाण्याचा आस्वाद घेऊ या!

नव्वदीमध्ये अनेक वर्षांनंतर एरोस्मिथ पुन्हा एकदा जुन्या लौकिकाला साजेशी गाणी घेऊन नव्या अल्बमच्या माध्यमातून पुढे आले. या अल्बमचं नाव होतं 'नाईन लाईव्हज'. एरोस्मिथच्या फारच थोड्या गाण्यांमध्ये एखादी थीम अशी सांगितलेली दिसते आणि त्यापैकीच एक गाणं "होल इन माय सोल", या अल्बममध्ये आहे.

हे एका 'नर्ड' मुलाचं गाणं आहे. अत्यंत हुशारीबरोबरच त्याच्यात स्वभावगत चक्रमपणा आहे. त्यामुळे त्याची कोणाशीच मैत्री नसते. मात्र त्यालाही आपली कुणी मैत्रीण असावी असं वाटत असतं. पण कॉलेजात त्याच्या विक्षिप्तपणामुळे कुणीच त्याला भाव देत नाही आणि मुली तर त्याची चिकार टर उडवतात. त्यामुळे आपल्या बुद्धिने तो क्लोनिंगचं यंत्र बनवून आपल्याला हवी तशी मुलगी अनेकदा बनवतो पण इतिहासाची पुनरावृत्ती होते. दरम्यान त्याच्या वर्गातील एक मुलगी याच्यावर जीव टाकत असते जे याच्या ध्यानीही नसतं.

एक चांगल्यापैकी इमोशनल आणि मेलोडिअस गाणं दिलंय एरोस्मिथच्या स्टीव्हन टायलर आणि जो पेरीने डेस्मॉन्ड चाईल्डच्या जोडीने. स्टीव्हनच्या गायनाबद्दल काय म्हणावं? अगदी ५स्टार गायन आहे. एकदम झकास!

गीतगुंजन - २१ : The Shoop Shoop Song (Its In His Kiss)

गीतगुंजन मालिकेमधलं आजचं गाणं म्हण्टलं तर बर्‍यापैकी जुनं आहे पण तितकंच ताजंही आहे. कारण ते प्रेम-भावनेविषयी आणि ती कशी ओळखता येते या विषयी आहे आहे. रुडी क्लार्क या एकेकाळी पोस्टमनकी करणार्‍या गीतकाराने साठ आणि सत्तरच्या दशकात आर् अ‍ॅण्ड बी नि सोल गायकांसाठी अनेक गाणी लिहिली. त्याने लिहिलेलं एक गाणं बेटी एव्हरेट् नावाच्या गायिकेने १९६४ साली रेकॉर्ड केलं पण तिला ते फारसं आवडलं नाही. का कुणास ठाऊक, पण तिला ते काहीसं बाळबोध वाटलं. आपल्या एका हिट सिंगल रेकॉर्डच्या मागच्या बाजूला तिने ते काहीशा निरुत्साहानेच टाकायला परवानगी दिली. ते गाणं होतं 'Its In His Kiss'. पण झालं काय की रमोना किंग नावाच्या आणखी एका गायिकेने तेच गाणं गायलं आणि तिची रेकॉर्ड वॉर्नर ब्रदर्स त्याच सुमारास प्रकाशित करत होते. म्हणून 'एव्हरेट्'च्या म्युझिक कंपनीने या गाण्याचं नावच बदललं. खरं तर रमोनापेक्षा बेटी प्रसिद्ध आणि प्रस्थापित गायिका होती, तिचंच गाणं जास्त प्रसिद्ध झालं असतं पण गाण्याचं शीर्षक बदललं गेलं खरं, आणि ते बनलं 'The Shoop Shoop Song', गाण्यातल्या शूप् शूप् अशाप्रकारच्या कोरस वरून. बेटी एव्हरेट् ने गायलेलं हे गाणं प्रकाशित होताना असं घडल्यामुळे तेव्हापासून हे 'द शूप शूप साँग' म्हणूनच प्रसिद्ध झालं. गाणं चांगलंच लोकप्रिय झालं. पुढे अनेक गायिकांनी ते गायलं. 

मला व्यक्तिशः हे गाणं खूप आवडतं. तसं बालिश - बाळबोध वगैरेही वाटत नाही. (कदाचित मीच काहीसा बालिश असेन म्हणून ;-)) मला स्वत:ला या गाण्याच्या अनेक कव्हर्सपैकी 'चेर'चं कव्हर जास्त आवडतं. त्या गाण्याच्या 'चेर'च्या गायकीमुळे आणि अर्थात त्याच्या विडिओमुळे. हे गाणं तिच्या 'मर्मेडस्' नावाच्या चित्रपटात घेतलं आहे. या चित्रपटातल्या इतर दोघी अभिनेत्रींनीही या विडिओत सहभाग घेतला आहे आणि त्यामुळेच त्या गाण्याला, गाण्याच्या सादरीकरणाला आणि याच्या विडिओलाही चार चांद लागले आहेत. हे गाणं म्हणते आहे चेर आणि तिला साथ देत आहेत (चित्रपटातल्या तिच्या मुली) विनोना रायडर आणि ख्रिस्तिना रिची. ख्रिस्तिना यात खूपच लहान आहे, गोंडस दिसते. चेर आणि विनोना यांच्याबद्दल काय बोलावं? या दोघींच्या उपस्थितीमुळे पडदा प्रचंड 'प्रेक्षणिय' होतो इतकं वर्णनही मला नेमकं काय म्हणायचंय हे सांगण्यासाठी पुरेसं आहे.

तसंही आपल्यापेक्षा अमेरिकेतलं वातावरण बरिक मोकळं असतं. 'मर्मेडस्'च्या या गाण्यात आईच आपल्या मुलींना खरं प्रेम कसं ओळखायचं ते सांगतेय. मुली विचारतायत, ते मुलाच्या डोळ्यात दिसतं का? बोलण्यात दिसतं का? हालचालीत दिसतं का? आणि आई (बहुदा तिच्या अनुभवावरून) ते कसं ओळखायचं ते सांगतेय, 'Its In His Kiss'.
